Frequently asked questions

Which tax year and rules does this salary calculator use?

Pakistan: FBR salaried-individual slabs, Tax Year 2026-27 (Finance Act 2026, effective 1 July 2026): 8 progressive slabs, 0% to 35%.
India: New regime (default), FY 2026-27: 0/5/10/15/20/25/30% slabs, Rs 75,000 standard deduction, Section 87A rebate up to Rs 60,000 (taxable income up to Rs 12 lakh), marginal relief just above Rs 12 lakh, 4% health and education cess.
Philippines: TRAIN Law (RA 10963) graduated rates effective 2023 onward: first P250,000 tax-free, up to 35%.

Is this salary tax calculation accurate enough to file my taxes?

No: this is an estimate only. It covers salary income with standard assumptions and ignores deductions, credits, allowances, surcharges and special cases. Always verify against official sources or a tax professional before filing.

Does it cover freelance or business income?

No. Salary income only. Pakistan taxes business and freelance income on a different schedule; India's old regime and capital gains are not covered; Philippine figures ignore SSS/PhilHealth/Pag-IBIG deductions (real payroll subtracts those before tax: this tool applies tax to gross salary as a simplification).

Where can I verify the official tax slabs?

FBR Pakistan (fbr.gov.pk) · Income Tax India (incometaxindia.gov.in) · BIR Philippines (bir.gov.ph)

Is my salary data uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything is computed 100% in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is sent to any server: there is not even a backend to send it to.

How do I calculate my take-home pay?

Short answer: Enter your gross monthly or annual salary above and pick your country. The calculator applies the correct 2026-27 tax slabs, shows exactly how much tax falls in each slab, and subtracts it from your gross to give your take-home pay. It is an estimate for planning, not a substitute for official tax computation.

The per-slab breakdown shows your marginal rate, which is what matters for decisions like raises and bonuses. Always verify against official sources or a tax professional before filing.

Which tax rules does this salary calculator use?

Short answer: Pakistan uses the FBR salaried-individual slabs for Tax Year 2026-27 (Finance Act 2026, eight progressive slabs from 0% to 35%). India uses the new regime for FY 2026-27 with the Rs 75,000 standard deduction, Section 87A rebate and 4% cess. The Philippines uses the TRAIN Law graduated rates with the first P250,000 tax-free.

These are the standard salary-income rules with common assumptions. Freelance and business income, capital gains, surcharges and payroll deductions like SSS/PhilHealth/Pag-IBIG are not covered.
