URL parameter checker listing every query parameter with decoded values

A URL parameter checker is a free online tool that takes any link apart and shows every query parameter in a clear table. Each parameter is listed with its decoded value, known trackers are flagged, duplicate keys are called out, and empty values are marked, so you can see exactly what a URL is carrying before you click or share it.

How do I see all parameters in a URL?

Short answer: Paste the full URL into the box above and press Check parameters. The tool splits the query string into a table showing each parameter name alongside its decoded value, so %20 becomes a space and %2F becomes a slash. Flags mark trackers, duplicates, and empty values automatically.

The host, path, and hash fragment are shown separately, which helps when a long link is hard to read in an address bar.

What are query parameters?

Short answer: Query parameters are the key=value pairs after the ? in a URL, joined by & symbols. They carry instructions to the server: q=shoes is a search term, page=2 asks for the second page, and utm_source=newsletter records where a visitor came from. Decoding reveals their real values, since browsers percent-encode special characters.

Some parameters are functional and required; others are trackers added by ad platforms. This tool flags the trackers so you can tell them apart.

Why would a URL have duplicate parameters?

Short answer: Duplicates happen when forms submit the same field twice, when tracking scripts append parameters repeatedly, or when two systems each add their own tags. Servers usually read only the first or last value, so duplicates are often accidental. The checker lists every occurrence with its position so you can spot them.

To strip the tracking duplicates entirely, run the URL through the Tracking URL Cleaner afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Is this URL parameter checker free?

Yes. Inspect unlimited URLs with no account and no limits. It runs entirely in your browser.

How are values decoded?

Percent-encoded sequences are decoded to their real characters, so %20 shows as a space. If a value is malformed, the raw text is shown with a note instead of failing.

Which parameters count as trackers?

The same list used by the Tracking URL Cleaner: all utm_*, pk_, piwik_, and matomo_ prefixes, plus click IDs like gclid, fbclid, and msclkid, and email tags like mc_cid and _hsenc.

Does it work on relative URLs?

Paste a full URL including https:// for best results. Bare paths without a host are parsed on a best-effort basis and may report a parse note.

Is the URL I paste uploaded anywhere?

No. Parsing happens locally in your browser. Pasted URLs never leave your device.
