How to watermark a PDF in 3 steps

  1. Upload your PDF file.
  2. Type your watermark text (e.g. DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL) and tune opacity, angle, font size, and position.
  3. Click “Apply watermark” and download your stamped PDF.

How do I make a diagonal watermark?

Set the angle to -45° and choose the “Tiled” position for the classic repeating diagonal watermark look. Keep opacity around 20-40% so the text marks the page without hiding the content.

For a subtle document stamp instead, choose “Center” with a smaller font size and low opacity.

Can this remove an existing watermark?

No - this tool only adds watermarks. To remove one, use our free Watermark Remover tool.

The watermark is drawn onto each page permanently when you download, so it survives printing, forwarding, and conversion.
